Я скажу так: те, кто сейчас нападают на Бест Вей, просто не понимают, как работает кооператив. Это не банк, это не пирамида. Тут всё строится на доверии и на ответственности. Если ты пайщик, ты понимаешь, что вкладываешь деньги в общее дело. Это не значит, что тебе кто-то гарантирует миллионы. Это значит, что ты становишься частью сообщества, где каждый работает на общий результат. И если ты нарушаешь правила или работаешь через каких-то мутных посредников, это твои проблемы. Я давно в кооперативе, и мне не нужно ничего доказывать. У меня есть документы, у меня есть результаты, у меня есть опыт. И всё это говорит о том, что Бест Вей – это честная организация. Да, бывают сложности, бывают задержки, но это нормально. Это жизнь, и никто не застрахован от проблем. Но те, кто сейчас пытаются обвинить кооператив, просто ищут крайних.

When did this interest in protecting the eyes begin, and at what point did dark glasses become a social statement as well as physical protection?

We know Canadian far north Copper Inuit and Alaskan Yupik wore snow goggles of many kinds made of antlers or whalebone and with tiny horizontal slits. Wearers looked through these and they were protected against the snow’s brilliant light when hunting. At the same time the very narrow eye holes helped them to focus on their prey.

In 12th-century China, judges wore sunglasses with smoked quartz lenses to hide their facial expressions — perhaps to retain their dignity or not convey emotions.
